Contingency Fees

For our routine collection services, we charge one-third1 of any actual recovery received from any source on an account that has been placed with us. If there is no recovery, there is no fee. If funds are remitted to us, we will deduct our fees and forward the balance to you. If payment is made directly to you, we will invoice you for our fees.

When a matter is forwarded to us for collection on this basis, we will promptly acknowledge receipt of the file and simultaneously initiate contact with the debtor. Any compromise of the account balance requires your approval. We will keep you fully advised of the status of your files.

If a matter cannot be resolved without litigation, you may be required to advance or reimburse court costs, suit or filing fees, service fees, stenographic charges or the services of other professionals we utilize. These costs are in addition to the one-third contingency, but can ordinarily be recovered from the debtor if litigation is successful. No litigation will be initiated without your prior approval. You are expected to supply a correct address where process can be served, and you may be charged for court appearances if this in not accomplished. If the debtor asserts a counterclaim, cross-claim, or affirmative defense, or files for bankruptcy, we reserve the right, at your option, to either convert this matter to an hourly fee or withdraw from the case.

Hourly Fees

We bill for attorney services on non-contingent matters at hourly rates ranging from $150.00 to $210.00; and bill paralegals and support staff at hourly rates ranging from $50.00 to $95.00, depending on the person performing the services and the nature of the work. Billing rates for the specific matters are confirmed in writing at the commencement of the engagement. We expect reimbursement or prepayment of the extraordinary costs, but do not charge for routine photocopying, postage or telephone usage.

Flat Fees

We offer a number of routine services on a flat fee basis. These arrangements are attractive where the scope of our engagement is to be limited to a specific, defined task or transaction, such as a routine court appearances and certain bankruptcy and collection activities. Pleas contact us if you are interested in quotes for such services.

1Contingency amounts are negotiable for large balance accounts. A flat fee may apply for court appearances in jurisdictions outside Cook County.
